Screws, studs, parafusos, nozes, pins, rivets, turning parts, and other fasteners are used in daily work and life. What is the difference between them?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Manufacturers divide standard fasteners into eight categories, and users can select them based on the application and function requirements.

Exploring the Various Types of Fasteners and Their Applications

Screws

❶ Machine screws: Divided into many varieties due to different head shapes and groove shapes. Head types include cylindrical heads, paheadsad, countersued, sead, and semi-heads head.
Wood Screws: Wood screws are used to screw into wood. There are several types of head types, such as round head, countersunk head, and semi-sunk head. The head features a slotted, cross-grooved, or grooved shape.
>Self-tapping screws: Self-tapping screws create the internal thread as they are screwed in, eliminating the need to pre-tap the working screw holes.
❷ Set screws: Set screws are used to fix the relative position of parts, and the head has slotted, hexagonal and square heads.
❸ Hexagon socket head screws: Manufacturers use hexagon socket head screws in situations where the installation space is small or the screw head needs to be embedded.
❹ Special-purpose screws: such as set screws, non-protruding screws, and eye screws.

Bolts

❶ General-purpose bolts: There are many varieties, including hexagonal heads and square heads.
❷ Bolts for reaming holes: When in use, insert the bolts tightly into the reaming holes to prevent misalignment of the workpiece.
❸ Anti-rotation bolts: There are square neck and tenon.
❹ Special-purpose bolts include T-slot bolts, swing bolts, and anchor bolts.
❺ High-strength bolt connection pair for steel structure: generally used for friction connection of steel structures such as buildings, bridges, towers, pipe support, s, and hoisting machinery.

Noz

There are hex nuts, square nuts, slotted nuts, lock nuts, welded nuts, and special-purpose nuts, such as wing nuts, cap nuts, knurled nuts, non-standard nuts, and embedded nuts.

Gaskets, retaining rings
An anti-loosening washer prevents loosening and reduces stress by positioning it between the supporting surfaces of bolts, screws, nozes, and the workpiece.
Lock washers are divided into flat washers, spring washers, stop washers, and inclined washers.
Non-retraction washers include internal toothlock washers, external toothlock washers, single-ear stop washers, double-ear stop washers, and round nut stop washers.
The retaining ring is mainly used to position, lock, or top the part on the shaft or in the hole.
Divided into elastic circlips, steel wire circlips, locking circlips for shaft parts, and shaft end circlips.

Pin

Manufacturers often use pins for positioning, connecting, or locking parts, and as overload shearing elements in safety devices.
❶ Cylindrical pins: Manufacturers primarily use cylindrical pins to fix parts on the shaft, transmit power, or position components.
❷ Tapered pin: The Tapered pin has a taper of 1:50, which is convenient for installation and self-locking. Manufacturers generally use it as a positioning and connecting element, primarily in applications that require frequent disassembly.
❸ Cotter pin: The cotter pin is an anti-loosening device for connecting parts. During use, users insert it into a nut, a bolt with a pinhole, or the pinhole of other connecting parts, then separate the feet to secure it.

Rivets

A rivet has a head at one end and an unthreaded shank. During use, users insert the rod into the hole of the connected piece and then rivet the end of the rod to secure or fasten it.
Manufacturers typically produce hot-forged rivets in larger specifications, primarily using them in locomotives, ships, and boilers. Shaping the head usually requires hot forging. Additionally, they also manufacture cold-forged rivets for certain applications.
>Manufacturers use hollow rivets in applications with low shear force, often connecting non-metallic parts such as plastics, leather, wood, and canvas.

Turning parts

Turning is a process that can achieve high precision and high efficiency. Selecting different cutting tools and cutting parameters allows manufacturers to achieve various processing effects. At the same time, turning can also process various complex shapes and contours, such as spherical and helical surfaces. In addition, turning can also achieve high-efficiency mass production, improve production efficiency, and reduce costs.
The application range of turning includes machinery manufacturing, aerospace, automobile manufacturing, electronic appliances, medical equipment,t, and other fields. In machinery manufacturing, engineers use turning to process various shaft parts, such as bearings, gears, and threads. In the aerospace industry, manufacturers apply turning to produce high-precision aviation components, including engine blades and turbine disks. Similarly, in automobile manufacturing, technicians utilize turning to machine essential parts like crankshafts and camshafts.
